On December 13, the last multi-purpose canister containing Pilgrim鈥檚 spent nuclear fuel was placed in dry storage emptying its Reactor Building of all fissile material and setting a new industry record for the speediest transfer of the plant鈥檚 used nuclear fuel to on-site storage.聽

Palisades and Big Rock Point Licenses Transfer to 伦理三级, Approved by the USNRC Today, Enlarges 伦理三级鈥檚 Decommissioning Fleet to Seven Reactor Units

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) approved the transfer of the Palisades Power Plant to 伦理三级 after the facility permanently shuts down in the spring of 2022. The approval also allows the transfer of Entergy鈥檚 decommissioned Big Rock Point facility near Charlevoix, Michigan, where only the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) remains.
