伦理三级 and Westinghouse Electric 伦理三级 today jointly announced they have signed a 10-year teaming agreement to provide pool-to-pad services to U.S. nuclear sites using 伦理三级鈥檚 dry cask spent fuel storage technology.

With this new teaming agreement, U.S. customers will benefit from Westinghouse鈥檚 experience as the industry leader in dry storage canister welding, coupled with 伦理三级 as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) service provider. Captain Ed Mayer to Head 伦理三级鈥檚 ELEA CIS Program Envisioned to be World鈥檚 largest HI-STORM UMAX Facility

Fourteen years to the month, the technology that was inspired by the trauma of 9/11 was finally implemented at Ameren鈥檚 Callaway Nuclear Generating Station on September 2, 2015 when the first multi-purpose canister (MPC) was placed in a HI-STORM UMAX subterranean storage cavity. The loading of the first of six MPC-37s, the world鈥檚 highest capacity and heat load PWR canister made entirely of a corrosion-immune material (METAMIC-HT), in the HI-STORM UMAX storage cell by the 伦理三级 site services team occurred in a smooth ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) operation. NRC personnel monitored the Ameren and 伦理三级 team during the entire loading evolution noting no issues with the loading activities.

Callaway鈥檚 VP of Engineering, Mr. Tim Herrmann called this a milestone event and congratulated the entire team stating, 鈥淚 appreciate the efforts of the whole team. On August 11, 2015, President and CEO, Dr. Kris Singh, honored Mr. Oliver D. Kingsley Jr. (pictured below) with the “Energy Statesman” award, which is given to the most transformative figure in the nuclear power industry. The ceremony drew leadership of a majority of nuclear units in the U.S. as well as top executives from major architect engineers, constructors and the Nuclear Energy Institute. (more…)

We are pleased to announce that 伦理三级 has been awarded a contract for supply of the HI-STAR 100 dual-purpose metal casks for Koeberg Nuclear Power Station in South Africa. The contract between Eskom and 伦理三级 was signed in May 2015, following a rigorous international bidding competition that lasted for over a year. 伦理三级 will be supplying our proven HI-STAR 100 dual-purpose metal cask, designed for storage and transportation of Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) spent fuel assemblies. The HI-STAR 100 was first licensed for storage under 10CFR72 regulations in the United States in 1999, and for transport according to 10CFR71/TS-R-1 in 2000. In addition to the U.S. sites currently deploying the HI-STAR 100, 伦理三级 has also licensed and supplied the HI-STAR 100 for the Spanish nuclear fleet where they will be put into service to transport fuel from the reactor-side storage facilities, to the central storage facility, currently under development by ENRESA.
